It has been one year since Dex returned to LMPD. Since his return, he, just like his fellows brothers and sisters of the thin blue line, has struggled with the madness facing law enforcement the past few years and has wondered if staying in the profession is still worth the risk. After attending an Adam Davis speaking event put on by the Louisville Metro Police Foundation, Dex remembers why he signed up to become a police officer, why he left in 2018, why he came back and why he is choosing to stay not only within the profession, but also his department. He realizes that everyone has their own reason for deciding to stay or go and that everyone has to do what is right for their lives and their families.
